HISTORY

Lucky has been helping cooks across Australia to achieve amazing results in the kitchen for generations. From preparing the evening meal to baking a culinary masterpiece, Lucky nuts are trusted for their quality and taste.

The Lucky brand story began when founder Allen Leach started a business as a contract packer of confectionery in 1957 under the name of Lucky Candy.

It was a humble beginning – the company’s first premises was in Canterbury (Melbourne, Victoria) at the back of the family grocery store! Over the years there were a number of moves into larger premises and some business changes, which saw Lucky develop a range of cooking nuts that quickly became trusted products in cupboards and pantries across Australia.

The Lucky brand was owned by Select Harvests Food Products Pty Ltd for a number of years before it was purchased by Prolife Foods Pty Ltd in September 2021. Prolife Foods is based in Altona, Melbourne. Lucky now manufactures and retails a range of nuts and seed products, including almonds, walnuts, cashews, hazelnuts, pine nuts, macadamias, brazil nuts, pistachios, pepitas and sunflower kernels.

Lucky Almonds are grown in Australia in Select Harvests’ orchards, which are located in the picturesque Sunraysia, Riverina and Riverland districts. We take care to source all the other nuts and seeds in our range from respected suppliers around the globe, to ensure the consistent premium quality you have come to expect from Lucky.
