INGREDIENTS

4 cups of hazelnut kernels
1/8 – ΒΌ tsp salt- optional

METHOD

  1. Begin by roasting the hazelnuts. Preheat oven to 180c, then roast for approximately 10 mins. It is important to not burn them, so check every minute after 8 minutes and roast until the colour just changes to a more golden brown and the nuts become fragrant.
  2. Allow to cool for 5 minutes then place into a clean tea towel. Rub tea towel off nuts to remove skins. Place de-skinned nuts into a food processor.
  3. Blitz for 6-20 minutes, depending on your machine. After this time the nuts with be a pourable, smooth nut butter. Add optional salt and pulse through.
